Teen Volunteering

Hands Raised Volunteering IconVolunteers

While the library strives to provide volunteer opportunities for teens, there is no guarantee that teens will be able to complete a set number of hours at any given time. Therefore if you are required to complete community service hours within a certain time, it is recommended that you seek other volunteer opportunities.

Teen Advisory Group

Our Teen Advisory Group is an opportunity to earn community service while helping to plan future teen and children's events, decorate the children's are, and more. Sometimes we brainstorm, sometimes we prepare crafts or clean. Each meeting is unique. New members are always welcome.

Once you are a member for TAG, you will be added to a list and asked about other volunteer opportunities that come up.

Teen Advisory Group is currently meeting every 3-4 months virtually.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Social Justice Service Club

Nicole is working with some other YA librarians to form a social justice club. Meet likeminded individuals and discuss issues important to you. Plan future activities. You'll earn community service for attending. This club is open to high school students (grades 9-12). Our next meeting is Saturday, January 16 at 11 AM. Sign up here.

Summer Volunteering

Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer volunteer opportunities for teens during summer of 2021.

Are you an adult looking to volunteer? Find more information about your volunteering here.

Have an idea? Contact Nicole at nmonk@burlingtonpl.org

Nicole is always open to hearing new ideas. Recently a teen volunteer did a virtual origami tutorial for our Facebook page. If you have a creative idea on how to volunteer that would assist the library, run it by Nicole!
