Teacher Cards The Burlington Public Library will provide a special "Teacher Card" to anyone who teaches students in Burlington. You do not need to be a Burlington resident yourself, but your students do! Teacher cards are made available to teachers, teacher aides, tutors and homeschoolers working with Burlington residents in a planned educational environment. The card allows you to borrow books, audio-books, music CDs, magazines and puppets from the Burlington Public Library for six weeks, rather than the customary 3 week loan period. Teacher cards are good for one year, expiring annually on August 1. They are kept at the circulation desk of the library. Teachers may reapply for one each fall at the start of the school year. The application process takes only a minute, but must be done in person at the library because a picture ID of the applicant, with current address, must be shown. Please note that materials borrowed for six weeks can NOT be renewed. The six-week loan applies only to materials owned by the Burlington Library; other libraries may not offer such a lengthy loan period. Videos and DVDs can be borrowed for only 1 week. QUESTIONS? Call the Library's Circulation Desk at 781-270-1693. |
