The question was: What would happen if everyone in Burlington read the same book? Burlington is reading "Dark Tide: the Great Molasses Flood of 1919" by local author Stehpen Puleo. In January 1919, a fifty foot tank filled with molasses exploded, sending 2.3 million gallons through the streets of Boston's North End and killing 21 people. Who was to blame? To accompany Burlington Reads, Burlington Public Library has many fun events planned. Here are pictures from the first one: |
