THE  SEARCH  FOR  SERGEANT  READ-A-LOT

This reading mascot is a German shepherd dog of sizeable proportions (for a stuffed toy animal.)  Various businesses and town offices around Burlington will display him each week for the 8 weeks of the Summer Reading Program.  If your child spots the "Sarge", rush into the library and fill out a raffle ticket before noon on Fridays.

 Be aware:  Sgt-Read-a-lot will be in a different disguise each week!

"Rhythms of the World: Stories and Songs for Everyone"

with storyteller-musician Davis Bates &  singer-musician Roger Tincknell

Thursday, June 21, 11:00

 Parents Choice award-winning performers, Davis Bates and Roger Tincknell, are back with a new international program of story and song.  This participatory show features folktales, clapping games, sing-alongs and dancing, as well as folk instruments from around the globe.

Burlington author, Valarie Giogas, tells children ages 3-7 about the animals who live in her backyard and how she wrote a book about them.

   "Paul's Reptile Circus"

Introduces children to a variety of non-poisonous reptiles including snakes, lizards and turtles.  Touching will be allowed.

Artist Fiona Logusch weaves with children, 

creating a "community wall hanging" to hang in the library, and helping children weave their own potholders.

 Have you ever wanted to make your own book?  Here's your chance!  Learn how to assemble & create content for a mini booklet.  It could be a comic book, picture book or even a miniature magazine.

New and inexperienced players welcome.

 

"Scrabble Tournament"

Aug 2, 12-4:30 pm:

All 4th – 8th graders who play Scrabble are eligible for this tournament. Teams must register by July 27.
